SOUTH CAROLINA'S CURRENT HELMET LAW:
SECTION 56-5-3660. Helmets shall be worn by operators and passengers under age twenty-one; helmet design; list of approved helmets. It shall be unlawful for any person undeur the age of twenty-one to operate or ride upon a two-wheeled motorized vehicle unless he wears a protective helmet of a type approved by the department. Such a helmet must be equipped with either a neck or chin strap and be reflectorized on both sides thereof. The department is hereby authorized to adopt and amend regulations covering the types of helmets and the specifications there for and to establish and maintain a list of approved helmets which meet the specifications as established hereunder.
Myrtle Beach Biker Bars
Myrtle Beach Bike Week takes place spread out over 60 miles of the Grand Strand area. Coming into North Myrtle Beach via Hwy 9 you will find a great biker hangout known as HB Spokes. Live music, food, vendors and entertainment will be at this location during the ten Bike Week day event. North Myrtle Beach is home to reknowned local bar Dicks Last Resort which is a favorite hangout with live entertainment and a rowdy crowd.
A new bar opening in 2008 on the northern end of Myrtle Beach is called Choppers. Choppers is located on 17 Business about two miles before you get to 22. Headed to the Beach near Choppers you'll find a great Beach Bar on the Grand Strand named “Ocean Annie’s”. Further South just past the Myrtle Beach State Park you have a well established bar called the “Iron Gate Saloon”.
Travelling further south on 17 Business to Garden city you'll find the infamous “Broken Spoke Saloon”. Featuring outdoor entertainment and some vendors at this popular location.
Murrells Inlet has the “Beaver Bar” and nextdoor is the Original SBB. Parking is limited and you will most likely have to pay to park somewhere in this area. There are many more locations in the Myrtle Beach area and on the Grand Strand but these are just a few that most of the people try to visit at least once during Myrtle Beach Bike Week.
